Hard-Boiled Detective Fiction: The L.A. Environment in the '30s

This is a very interesting short video on the history of Hard-Boiled Fiction. The commentator deserves kudos for asking the viewer to fact check his commentary. We learned something from the video, something that we never bothered to consider, but the author points it out clearly, that the hard-boiled genre was born in California with Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.
